We were contracted to undertake Design, Fabrication, Installation and Commissioning works on the primary treatment for the Glanbia Cheese Project in Portlaoise. The project includes an influent pumping station to transfer flows to rotary drum screen for preliminary treatment. Screened effluent is then stored in two above ground stainless steel silos where it is then pumped to a Hydro DAF system complete with pH adjustment, coagulation and flocculation. Treated effluent is stored in two above ground stainless steel effluent silos before being discharged in time controlled sequences. The works included a full control system and incorporation into the clients on-site BMS System.

Project ABC involved the design, build and operation (DBO) of a turnkey biological treatment plant for a Food & Beverage client. The project included all process, MEICA and civil/building works including a remote pumping station, rising main, process tanks as well as control and sludge dewatering buildings. A new lined remote pumping station was constructed complete with rising main to the wastewater treatment facility where a drum screen provides preliminary treatment. A set of low and high strength balance tanks c/w pH correction provide the first treatment step followed by full biological treatment including anoxic, aerobic and a membrane bioreactor (MBR). The works also included sludge storage and sludge dewatering via a Hydro Screw Press.

This industrial project consisted of a compact turnkey design and build wastewater treatment plant including a duty/standby inlet pumping station and preliminary fine screening. A new bunded balance tank was provided to store influent post screening prior to primary treatment via a Hydro DAF System c/w chemical coagulation and flocculation. The project also included the provision of a stainless steel sludge storage tank and a Hydro Screw Press mounted on an elevated platform discharging into a skip  below. Works included full electrical installation and integration including a control panel, PLC, HMI and commissioning.

This turnkey project for a 400 m3/day wastewater treatment facility was delivered against an accelerated programme to meet stringent discharge requirements. First stage preliminary treatment consists of screening and influent pumping to a balance tank before primary treatment with a Hydro DAF. Following primary treatment effluent undergoes full biological treatment including Anoxic & Aerobic stages followed by tertiary treatment via another Hydro DAF. Sludge dewatering was also provided on this site including sludge storage and a double Hydro Screw Press mounted on an elevated platform.

We completed upgrade works at the Rosderra Edenderry site on a phased basis. Works included the upgrade of the existing aeration grid with installation of removable fine bubble diffused aeration grids. Subsequently the aeration capacity was increased with the construction of a new aeration tank c/w removable aeration grids also. The sludge system was also upgraded with the installation of a Hydro Screw Press. Odour abatement works were also completed including the covering of tanks, installation of ducting and installation of a bio scrubber odour treatment unit.

We completed this international project over an 8 week period by availing of offsite fabrication facilities. The contract included the replacement of submersible pumps complete with the addition of a pipe flocculator, pH control and dosing systems on the inlet works. The existing aeration tank was upgraded with an additional aerator and the final effluent treated to a higher standard passing through a new drum filter. The contract also included the removal of a labour-intensive dewatering unit which was replaced with a more efficient Hydro Screw press.

We completed major design and build upgrade works to the Arrabawn Nenagh facility over two phased contracts. Phase 1 included a full control and automation upgrade along with a new primary DAF treatment system, anoxic tank and a tertiary DAF and drum filter. Phase 2 works provided for a flow and load capacity upgrade including the provision of on-line monitoring systems, flow diversion tank and balancing tanks and additional primary and tertiary Hydro DAF systems. A unique two stage biological process was adopted to cater for high COD / BOD loading rates from the dairy waste and ensure a robust treatment process to meet stringent final effluent standards.
